Announced in February, the composers selected to participate in the 2003 Forum were:

The host orchestra for 2003 was the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra conducted by Kenneth Young. Participants received tutoring from Brenton Broadstock and Andrew Schultz throughout the year, culminating in a workshop and public performance in Hobart on 18 December.

A feature on the 2003 ACOF composers, broadcast on ABC Classic FM in November 2004 can now be heard online. In Composers Emerging, pieces from the final concert are heard, the participants talk about their music, and tutors Brenton Broadstock and Andrew Schultz reminisce about their equivalent ‘emerging’ years. <http://www.abc.net.au/classic/audio/>
