An initiative of the Music Board of the Australia Council, the Composers_Connecting_Community project saw several music organisations host a composer residency or commission new works for youth and community-based music organisations throughout 2006 and 2007.
The three organisations involved were Dandenong Ranges Music Council, Orchestras Australia, and Youth Orchestras Australia. The project gave opportunities for youth and community-based musicians to work alongside Australian composers and each culminated in the performance of new works.
