On the verge of completing a Bachelor of Music from the University of Newcastle, Brad only has four weeks remaining of his composition degree until he ventures out into the 'real' world of cut-throat freelance composition. Brad has studied with Colin Spiers and Nigel Butterley, and in 2002 he won the Newcastle Music Lovers Club Prize for Composition. His music has been premiered by Colin Spiers, Marshall McGuire, and now The Song Company.
The text for The Thoughts of Lucky is taken from Samuel Beckett's play Waiting for Godot. Throughout the play, Lucky, a mute character, is enslaved and brutally mistreated by his master, Pozzo. When one of the characters takes off his hat, Lucky speaks, expelling his thoughts to the audience in a mad, maniacal, fragmented way.
