MODART is a professional development project that provides opportunities for emerging composers to develop works for vocal ensemble, which then receive public performance by The Song Company.
MODART07 Photo Gallery
The Song Company and seven emerging composers collaborated together in MODART07, with each composer writing a short work for a cappella ensemble.
Chris Williams, Rebecca Harrison, Andrew Batt-Rawden, Kate Moore, Alex Pozniak, Johanna Selleck, and New Zealand composer Claire Nash were the 2007 participants. Following the model set in the successful MODART03 and 05 projects, the composers worked closely with Artistic Director, Roland Peelman and The Song Company throughout the month of September. The creative interaction between the composers, the singers and Roland Peelman provided a unique learning environment for the composers to develop their craft.
