Twice a year, the Australian Music Centre produces a Teacher Pack especially designed to help teachers choose the best available resources for teaching Australian music.
About the Teacher Pack
The Music Teacher Pack contains information about the Centre, our library, and the resources available for teachers and students. Resources include Teacher Kits, CDs, scores, books and catalogues available from the Centre. It is sent out to all secondary and some tertiary teachers in Feburary and August every year – and it's free!
The aim of this pack is to encourage both teachers and students to discover the rich and diverse music created in Australia. We have qualified staff that can assist with implementing the Australian component of the secondary school music curriculum and are happy to assist with any enquiry you may have.

What is the Australian Music Centre?
As a national service organisation, the AMC is dedicated to increasing the profile and sustainability of Australian composers and other creative artists. The AMC facilitates the performance, awareness and appreciation of music by these artists through resonate – its online magazine; composer and other creative artist representation; library and retail services; sheet music publishing; and the management, administration and publication of project-based initiatives. Its library collection holds over 30,000 items by more than 500 artists.

The genres of music included in the AMC’s vision are notated composition, electroacoustic music, improvised music (including contemporary jazz), electronica, sound art, installation sound, and multimedia, web and film sound.

How can I borrow music from the AMC?
You will need to become a member to borrow scores and recordings for perusal or study.
How can I purchase music from the AMC?
Contact our Sales Dept by email, phone or fax for information about prices and availability. Most of the items in the catalogue are available for purchase.
How can I get 10% off the purchase price?
Members of the Centre receive a discount on purchases of scores, CDs and publications.
Can I bring my students to visit the Centre?
Schools which are members of the Centre can arrange to bring small groups of senior high school students to the Library to familiarise them with resources and services. Bookings are essential, contact the Centre on ph: (02) 9247 4677.
How can I find repertoire for my HSC Students?
Every year Library staff compile lists of works which fit the requirements of the NSW HSC music performance syllabus for Works of the Last 25 Years (Australian focus).
How can I find repertoire for my school choir/orchestra/concert band?
Search the Centre’s online catalogue, and search the Genre/Instrumentation category for the headings Choir, Youth Orchestras, or Band. Please contact the Centre for help with searching
